Any given structure would need an explanation. So if you have a
structure in a causal chain, then you would have to go to the meta level
(outside the causal chain) to explain this structure. A geometrical
analogy is a surface such as the sphere which is finite and unbounded.
You need a third dimension to explain the curvature. BTW I think in your
statement you meant finite and unbounded, not infinite and bounded.
