This would be unheard of, George. I communicated over
the past 2 decades with more than a dozen discussion
lists and never never succeeded to get people
literally - W R I T E - in a Subject line. "Reply
button" it is, no matter what they write about. It is
already far far away from the original 'subject', but
the line stays for a good reason: good old laziness.
Just push the button and write. I am guilty of it
myself as well.
Your suggestion implies carefulness, maybe even in the
unimaginable way to mark the topic one is writing
about.
(To show the 'other side': I was scolded once when I
wrote in a subject that it will mess up the archive
search for not tracing back the post to its origins.)
But 'everything' has at least two sides.
