I am quite puzzled by the idea that the way in which the computation
is carried out has no effect at all on the way the simulated perception
is subjectively perceived. Max Tegmark goes much farther than what you
suggest above in his paper, considering that a simple set of axioms
would/should suffice to produce the same subjective perceptions as
would a "full development" of them. We have a kind of paradox here.
We have no way to figure how the way in which the computation is
carried can have any effect on the way the simulated perception is
subjectively perceived but have we any pro or con argument to claim
that it *actually* doesn't matter ?
