        What George is saying is something we have discussed here many
times; the old Tegmark/Schmidhuber idea that the universe is infinite, so it
is like running an infinite counting algorithm. And like the 'ferns' of the
Mandelbrot set, you can only see features in the universe if you have an
occluded, subjective viewpoint from within the universe. From an outisde,
Archimedian perspective, it's all noise. With an infinite amount of noise,
you can see whatever patterns you choose.

        This is what we mean when we say that everything, including
consciousness, is subjective.
